On this season’s iteration of Survivor the contestants were separated into three tribes. Brains, beauty and brawn with Portland Trailblazers great Cliff Robinson landing on the “brawn” team.

As a survivor fan I know that being a celebrity usually works against you, which is why it’s something that is usually kept secret whenever possible. Cliff decided to be up front and honest about his hoop days which seemed to work to his benefit. In fact, he was able to land a “wing man” in tribe mate and long time Robinson fan Woo.

According to Survivor host Jeff Probst:

“I grew up in Seattle so there was a big rivalry between the Super Sonics and the Trail Blazers then, and I only knew him as an enemy” explains Probst. “So sitting down with him and seeing what a jovial guy he was, was fun.”

I’m excited to see if Cliff is able to outwit, outplay and outlast his cast mates on his journey to become the Sole Survivor.

Survivor airs at 8pm on Wednesday nights on CBS.
