Anna Azarov Photography

For the latest edition of our interview series we chop it up with Easy McCoy.  Someone we admire for his music, grind, fitness regimen etc, etc.  Let’s get into these questions!

503tv: Can you introduce yourself to those that may not be familiar with you?

EM: Easy Mccoy, I used to Go By Soul Plasma and Then i went to Soul P.. with my first major Deal. After a While and the deal i was in ended, and plus people kept thinking i did R&B or Was a Pimp cause of the P in my name lol. During a Freestyle in the studio with Zeb I Came up with the Name Easy Mccoy. IN SHORT meaning it just Easy To Real and Be You. Thats the best way to live. So i live it and thats my name lol

503tv: You’re someone that has enjoyed longevity in a town that can be unforgiving to Hip Hop artists. How is it that you’ve been able to thrive in this climate?

EM: You know i had to leave this Climate and build Relationship thats just wasnt local. Thats the key relationship. To be honest you have to think of taking over the world. Not just your city. I found whats worked for me and i didn’t care what nobody else was doing. That was the difference for me.

503tv: Do you have any advice for a young independent artist looking to brand themselves and break into the local scene?

EM: Don’t just think about the local scene especially its here. You can get popping easy or think your popping cause all your friends and family support or for likes on the gram or facebook. Don’t get so caught up in that and think you made it, cause you a so called town hero or a official in the town thats cool But that aint going to feed you or you family. The Music Industry is bigger than the city and just the clubs here. and one more thing learn the business and spend money learning that instead. Don’t forsake the business side of the game.

503tv: Who (in or out of the culture) inspires you and why?

EM: A lot of people to many to name, But anybody doing for real and taking it serious. i inspire myself the most cause of what im doing now and how i managed to elevate in the sync and film and tv industry with hip hop to the point i make a very generous living and im helping other artist do the same. This is a tuff culture and industry to survive in. So a lot of my peers and like i said myself cause when i look back and then i see myself today. all inspiration when i look in the mirror

503tv: What should we be looking out for from you?

EM: I got a lot of projects coming out and more syncs. im a be heard all over the tv and film the year and putting out quality music at the same time. March 12- i got a full release with my man City Wolf coming out on Position Music that will be heavy and real big for film and tv. STAY TUNED

Can you spare two cents?
